confused and concerned about brakes 200 1991

Hope you all have an answer for me.

Here's what happened:
Today I could stop without a problem but the peddle would travel slowly to the floor when at a complete stop. I could pump up the peddle and it would slowly go back down again. The peddle also did not feel as hard as it normally does. Those are the symptoms.

So this evening I bled the brakes with one of those Motive power bleeders. I checked the manual to get the correct bleeding order. When I got to the right (driver's side) top chamber, fluid came out and then stopped. I don't get it. Why would the fluid just stop? I went ahead with the entire bleeding proceedure, and when I came back to the right front caliper to bleed the lower chambers, brake fluid came out of them.

I took the car for a very careful test drive. The peddle was harder than earlier in the day, but it would still go very slowly to the floor. The brakes are regular and not ABS.

I am confused and concerned. Any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Thank you.
George
