Happy to join this impressive Amazon community. 120-130 1967

Hi GT_Crusader,

I really got a kick from your right on course description of the Volvo Amazon..... "Simple to work on, great performance, understated elegance, solid, cheap to run, fun and safe".

And then best of all....But you can add me to the long, long list of folks who lust after the 123GT - the Holy Grail".

I bought my first 123GT new in Germany in 1968. Drove it for 13 years and regreted selling it for many years before I found a 1969 (yes, '69) 123GT eight years ago. I have replaced the upolstry, all the chrome, and other minor things. The engine (B20B), transmission, and OD are original.

In 1971 I bought a 1800E new, drove it until 1981 when I sold it for the same price I paid for it.

I must say that the 1800E was nice, but I always preferred driving the 123GT.

I note that there is someone from South Africa who is offering 123GT horn buttons (cheap) on eBay and there are a couple of GT mirrors offered for sale in England.....not so cheap. Good luck. The Holy Grail is worth the search.

Jerry
