Small Exhaust leaks: Do any of the OTC 'sealers" really work? 200 1993

I have a small hairline crack on one of the welds on my CAT that is leaking exhaust. I tried what my local trusted parts guy suggested: (brand name escapes me) A small container of grey goop that is supposed to work on CATS up to 2000(?) degrees. Followed all the instructions and it lasted for about 4 days before leaking again at the seam. I thought about trying JB Weld, but the temp rating is not that high. Might give it a try anyway as I have had good success with it over the years on various repairs.

I know having it welded is an option, but the guys in my area will want at least $100 min to do it.

Thanks!
