Tie Rods 140-160 1972

If you mean the rods that go to the wheels from the steering idler and pittman arm,
if you have the tool to pop the pins out of the tapered holes it is usually pretty easy.
If you don't have that tool it can be pretty hard.
Sometimes I have had to support the end of the new rod with a jack to make it tight
in the tapered hole so I can screw the nut on.
Be sure you put the "R" and "L" marked ends on the outboard end to get a proper fit.
(In other words, the end of one rod will be marked "R" and that end needs to go to
the arm on the RIGHT wheel, NOT toward the center.) Likewise the "L" end of the other
rod needs to go to the driver's side wheel arm.
Normally you won't have to adjust toein, but it is good practice to check.
