M46 hard shift into 2nd 200 1982

I just recently have started having an issue with shifting into 2nd gear. It goes in without any grind but it takes a fair amount of force. Also fourth is starting to show similar problems. Earlier today i felt around the shift linkage and found what appeared to be a blown out bushing but i can't seeem tp find it on any diagrams. It's right where the shifter goes through the gear shift rod into the gear selector.
Any ideas on what this is and if it could affect my shifting?
or any similar experiences?
-Thanks
