How to get Control Arm bolt out 140-160

Hello,

Try the rust breaker 1st.

However, if that does not work, you will have to use a torch.

Heat the threaded end of the bolt till red hot and try turn the bolt.

You may have to heat cycle the bolt several times.

Worst case scenario will require the cutting of at least 1 end of the bolt to remove the arm.

When cutting the bolt, the cut should be may between the tube in the crossmember and the bushing.

Sometimes the metal sleeve from the bushing gets stuck on the bolt and you want to try to avoid cutting the sleeve to save cutting time.

Sometimes you have cut both ends and then remove the remaining bolt still trapped in the crossmember.

Be careful not to damage the ends of the tube in the crossmember when cutting the bolt.

Also be nice to the rubber washer and plastic ring spacer on the forward bushing as you need to reuse those!! Do not use a torch there as you will melt both of the spacers!!
