k-jet fuel accumulator test/ warm start problems

I have exactly the same issue on my '79 245. The easiest test is the one that you have described. The hose you need to pull is the only one that is on the opposite end of the accumulator from the line going to the engine and the line from the pump. The hose is by itself. The hose may or may not have a clamp on it as it is exposed to esentially no pressure. There should not be any gasoline in this hose. If there is gasoline in the hose, it means that the accumulator diaphragm has a hole in it. Even if the vent hose is plugged, the accumulator will not maintain adequate pressure in the fuel system, causing hard hot starting.
Yes, this is a common problem with k-jet cars.
I have yet to install my new accumulator, but will post my results when I do.
