75 m40 into a 74 144 w/bw35 (swap) 140-160

I am picking up an m40 from a 75 245 to put into my 74 144. I'm trying to determine whether the pedal bracket is compatible or modifyable (word?) between the two. I also need the flywheel but I'm not sure if I have a 6 or 8 bolt crank. Redwood Chair said that some of you gurus may be able to find out based on vin#. so the vin is 1446363-449535 if anyone knows check it. built in 0ct '73. I would be very grateful. Here's the thread on TBs. http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=244442

Any other advice would be great on what to expect for this swap.
