no start/no crank 780 turbo 700 1989

hi-
this morning before work car wouldn't start. heard 1-2 clicks when key put into pos III, warning lights were off even when put back in pos II. i went under the hood, jiggled a few wires (namely at the starter and battery) and it started. same thing today when leaving work. once started runs without issue. battery is new as of this january and voltmeter reads what it should when lights are on and off.
when i got it home i cleaned the battery terminals and at the starter. it started the first try.
is there something else i should look for?
