960's drivetrain woes 900 1994

Hey folks, I have a 1994 960 and ever since i have owned the car it has had an annoying problem at takeoff from a stop. What happens is upon acceleration the drivetrain vibrates aand makes an audible "clunking" noise. This all goes away at after the car starts moving. I am wicked confused as to whats going on here anyone on here have any ideas what could be happening? I have replaced the rear shocks (nivomats) with original Volvo dealer nivos (ouch they were pricey) and quite frankly the rear suspension of this car confuses the hell out of me. Thanks for the help guys!
