New Volvo Big Problem 200 1988

I just got this 88 to replace my 85, it had no timing belt on it as the previous owner wanted to replace the cam seal which was leaking really bad but didn't have the right tools, anyways the work that was done to it yesterday by myself. cam seal, crank seal, timing belt, tensioner and waterpump, thermostat and new flame trap old one was clogged, had 3 holes left open. anyways car makes a loud metal to metal sqwell, at first i though it was rod bearings but today i took off the belts and now the sound is gone, a/c has already been bypassed so all we have left is power steering alternator or water pump, i can turn both the water pump and alternator by hand and don't see any problems. still the noise is really loud and i would like to figuere out how to get rid of it.
