740 no brake lights 700

Brick Brothers,
This 91 740 waggy is humbling me.
I even went to church this am, but I guess I'm still
in the red.
Okay my wife is following me and mentions, you don't have any brake lights
Great...
I check the 15 amp number 4 fuse, burnt.
try another burnt
try a twenty amp for a bit, does not burn, driver's side only brake light lights up, then it stops, fuse does not burn up
I have power to the fuse
try replacing the big red bulb indicator relay with one I snagged at a boneyard
no dice.
The shift lock feature is fine.
Any words of wisdom would be grand. I'm about ready to breakdown and head to a shop,
thanks in advance, also the horn does not work but I don't think it is tied into
the brake lights but who knows.....
Thanks again for any advice!
