Fuel sending unit leak 140-160

Pulled back the trunk bottom to reveal this unpleasant surprise.

There's a shallow puddle of gas resting on the top of sender unit. I was thinking of replacing the unit anyway. Maybe now is a good time? Anyone point out what the problem(s) could be?
