odd whine from front wheel 900

Hey

'93 940 wagon. The passenger side front wheel makes a steady low pitched whine which rises and falls with wheel speed that I can't shake. At first I thought it was wheel bearings, but I purchased and installed a new hub from FCP and it made no difference at all to my consternation. It is not a wub-wub-wub-wub like a wheel bearing, just a whine, with no pulling or other problems but is is loud enough to irritate, very annoying indeed. (The other noise in the cabin I can't stand is my wife complaining that the $80 part didn't fix the problem, but I seriously doubt any of you can help me with that).

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
