repairing e-code headlight lens 200 1987

If you have ever driven through Wyoming in the winter (or spring/fall for that matter) you might feel my pain. They use gigantic stones to "sand" the road, and I have had so much windshield damage over the years from either passing snowplows throwing these things, or trucks kicking them up, even after the road dries out.

Anyway, I have aftermarket e-code headlights on my 240 and for the first time, one of these big rocks got thrown into the glass lens, and put a big star as well as a small hole about 2 mm diameter in the lens. I am wondering if anyone has had success repairing one of these lenses, and if so, what is a good way to do it. I am worried putting something like glue in there will discolor and leave a big ugly spot on the lens.

Thanks!
