fuel pressure regulator..turbo or non-turbo? 700 1986

My 86 non-turbo 745 has been running sluggish and lacks pep upon take-off. Mileage is low (18 on the highway), so I thought it might be the FPR. The OEM is a 2.5 Bar 0280160225 Bosch, but I have replaced it with a 0280160294, 3.0Bar which is for 87-92 740 non-turbo. It runs a lot better.
I have available a 0280160226,3.0Bar, which is for the 85-86 Turbo 740.
Is the extra 0.5 Bar pressure enough to damage the injectors, or other components?
should I stick to the 2.5 Bar OEM pressure?
Thanks for any suggestions,
el Raidman
