Nothing volvo here. I met a guy in the Post Office who liked my Volvo that was parked outside and he wanted to tell me all about his 1973 Mercedes 450 SE, how he's had it for 15 years and how it belonged to a German mechanic before that and before that a doctor. How it only had 95k on the odometer etc etc.............and would I like to have it. Well what do mean have it? I'd like to send it to a nice home instead of donating it. Well it's mine now, price $0. Runs great needs a few things, mostly bulbs and a bit of cosmetics. Almost completely rust free too. Rugs, headliner, glass and upholstery all good to excellent. Driver's seat could use some springs. So far I powerwashed the outside, very dirty due to be parked out, the engine compartment-this car never leaked oil, came out spotles with just a little soap then power washing. 4.5 liter V8 with single OHC, 16 valves.
So in the glove box were an assortment of fuses like the ones we use in our Volvos. Some white, some red and some blue (the color not the electrical kind of blew) They are numerically marked on the back and I assume the numbers correspond with the ampherage they can handle 8, 16 and 25 respectively. I also assume thet are always color coded this way.
Why does the Volvo use a short 25 amp fuse instead of a long one like the Mercedes??
