Check engine code help needed 200 1989

If the engine light comes on, it is an emissions thing for sure.

I do not know the codes off hand but I think they do not directly point to a 0-2 sensor anyway.

It really means an air leak somewhere first or a lazy 0-2 sensor that will not work with the ECU program map quickly enough.

You are always safe having a backup for testing. If it is not running obliviously bad, it could be a minor as that sensor.

I use a cheap 7/8 inch box end wrench that I cut off to about 6 inches long. I put the new sensor in with just a little anti-seize applied just on the threads.

As far as fighting it out, I have a lead hammer that I use to bump them loose. When you start turning it out and it speaks to you, then, you must work it back and forth and some penetrate will help muffle the cries.
