240 how to remove center console 200 1989

hello there doesn't seem to be anything/anywhere on the net regarding this... to adjust my parking brake, i need to remove the center console, but how? there are two screws on the rear sides of it, but removing those doesn't loosen the console at all. at the front there is a metal tab- so the whole unit must move forward to clear that. on either side near the front the are white plastic tab tips protruding from inside. also there are metal brackets to keep the seat belt latches in position, which seem to come out from the console (can't be sure as the seats are so tight against the console). so how does one get this thing out???? there is nothing in my service manual. thanks!
