After years of not having a Volvo I am back in the club with a 1990 245. It is in fairly good shape but I am noticing a little leak which I think is transmission fluid, due to low fluid on the stick and the leaks location which seems to be from the two tubes that run parallel to the toque vents( I think these are the cooling lines to the radiator ? ). I think it is dripping from the bracket there and not from above but i just cleaned around there this evening and will look agian tomorrow.
Anyways I need to get the car inspected so I took it to Swedish Motors/ Tomasso Auto and they supposedly found a leak in the drivers front brake and say my control arm bushing need replaced. So while i was cleaning underneath i took a look at the brakes and could not see any leak and my brake fluid in right on the line so I don't believe their is a leak. I do not know much about the bushings so i am not sure if they need done or not. Now I didn't take it there, my girlfriend did and I am wondering if they are just telling her stuff needs done to get an extra buck. Anyone have experience with these guys and are they trustworthy? Or is there another good shop in the area I should check out? Much appreciate any help as I am new to the RI area and missing my Volvo mechanic back in WV already. Thanks, Max
