Missing O2 Sensor 900

Everyone,

I just snagged a very nice and clean '94 940 Turbo Wagon and so far it has been running great. However, when I got under the car after buying it and I noticed something I missed when inspecting the car...I can't find the O2 sensor! The car has had a new exhaust put in (and it also appears to have a new Cat) and I was expecting to see the O2 sensor sitting right before the Cat but instead all I found was a plugged hole. Can these cars run without an O2 sensor? Or am I just having one of those "Duh" moments and looking in the wrong place? The car was previously in an area that did not need to be smogged but now I have taken it to Portland and get to run the DEQ smog gamut, hence my concern with the missing O2 sensor. Anyway, thanks for the help in advance!

Brian
