Cold Weather Starting 140-160

I second some choke position adjustment for your morning routine.

I tend to "ride the rich side down", which to me means, only push the choke in when the car shows the first signs of running too rich. Then, only adjust it in until those symptoms go away. The car ends up warming up on the rich side. In practice, this usually means choke is all the way out at start up, then pushed in to 1.5" out after 5 seconds of running. I leave it at that position for the first few minutes of driving, and slowing push it in after that, usually a few sessions of 1/4" at a time. Usually fully in after 5-7 minutes of driving. I never get any backfires, and never have an issue starting the car on 20-30 degree mornings.

I would think that unusually hard starting in the cold means there's another tuning issues. These beasts survived the cold of Sweden!
