Have you heard a sound like this.... 200

1992 240GL 199680k.After start up and not always I hear a sound similar in tone as when someone rubs their finger around the rim of a fine china glass. That is the best I can describe it.If I accelerate the sound goes away but returning to normal idle it starts again. It is on and off.I checked all the belts for correct tension, sprayed some belt dressing and some silicone on and behind any and all pulleys. The car runs fine,no start up problems or heating problems.I'm in the process of selling this car and do not want to sink any more money on it.I was wondering if even a functioning water pump would make a bearing noise.Or maybe the belt tensioner?Anyone ever come across something similar?TIA
Nelson
