fuel pump diagnosis, 940 900 1995

Hi All,

Before you flame me, I read through the RWD FAQ.

My 95 945 started for a second yesterday and then refused to run. The car has run poorly in cold weather for the past few years, but yesterday was fairly warm. The engine cranks just fine and the tow truck driver suggested it might be a weak/failed fuel pump. Spark plugs and wires are about a year old. Gas tank is about 1/4 full.

I'm pretty sure that my 1995 NA 945 has Bosch fuel injection. Does this mean there is/are one or two fuel pumps? Is the pump next to the spare tire in the tank? The easiest way to check the fuel pump's functionality seems to be to loosen the injection rail banjo bolt after cranking and see if gas leaks out (yes, I know this is dangerous...)

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
