Removing emblems from 1800 1800 1966

Is there a trick to removing the chrome and emblems off of the car? I looked in the truck at the backside of the volvo lettering and it just seems to be a post, no nut to remove or anything else. But last thing I want to do is force them out and break something. I have enough work to do in this restoration without creating more. The guy I bought the car from, pulled one of the pieces of chrome off of the front fender, looks like he forced it off (not going to be able to salvage that chrome piece), so I also need to figure out how to take the rest of the chrome pieces off so I can "finish" my body work.

Thanks for any help.
Tim
