Valves (shims and hushers) 200

Ok, I am beginning to get a ticking noise, at cold start and when warm, and from perusing the interwebs, I am beginning to think it would be the hushers, since as far as I know in the volvo's 22 year long life they have never been touched. To get the hushers looks pretty simple... take off the valve cover and then the camshaft... I see that it can change the valve clearances as well, and so I may need to get new shims... But... I have no idea what the valve clearances need to be, where the valve shims are... you get my point... I get the idea of it, but the specifics are a mystery to me... Any advice is appreciated.
