Hi Steve,
Can't help with the actual cause except to say I've read this before on the BB. My memory of the problem was a rebuild caliper where the bleeder seat may have been plugged and re-cut as part of a procedure to restore the seat, but the drill operation was skipped. Blind hole. Maybe re-post this in 200 forum -- because I think it was a 2 series caliper. In any event, only a few of us read "ALL-ALL."
This may be irrelevant to 7 series parts, but I no longer buy reman calipers on line because they are so variable in quality, can't inspect them, and require core return shipping to obtain any savings. The local chain outfit counter attendants go off and help other customers while I mess around looking under dust plugs and bleeder screws, old-man glasses, pocket flashlight, and all, before giving the OK. Took me long enough to give in to buying reman in the first place.
