Please help with 2nd alternator blown in 2 days!! 700 1991

Hi guys i have a problem with my alternator which started yesterday as I dropped my wife at work at 5 AM and got off the freeway and all my dash lights came on, and my dash volts meter was giving a no charge. I made it home replaced the alternator with a rebuilt Bosh from Pepboys and the first thing I noticed before I cranked her up (ignition position 3) was the dash warning lights didn't light up as usual abefore cranking. I continued - started her up turned on the fan and smelled smoke!! and a blown voltage regulator, next I replaced it with a Autozone one and the same thing all over again. :(

I read in the faq that the "Diagnosing Alternator Exciter Circuit Troubles" instrument cluster might be the problem.so I tried this suggestion with a 12 circuit tester/pen :

"a wire from the battery positive terminal through a small spare idiot light bulb(or any bulb with the same wattage and voltage specification) to the idiot lamp circuit connector on the alternator" but the warning lamps didn't light when the engine is off like the faq suggested.

Also noted that both the new alternators have 2 positive posts B+ , D+ and a clip on positive, The car side connection has one positive post type and a female positive clip-on connecter. Whats the difference between the B+ an D+ posts?

I need your input real bad as I cannot figure it out and I'm frustrated at this point ,hopefully I will hear from you guys and not have to take it to a repair shop.
