Oil light on at start up and chug when put in drive/hard starting 200 1988

An 88 w/ a CPS, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Best to replace the exhaust manifold before you burn a valve.

You don't say time/ miles for these changes. Where you are re weather/ temp.

1) Oil filter, oil, just wear. Maybe sensor? Some of mine do this; some don't.

2) I'd do a flame trap & throttle body service for a start. Have you gotten some bad gas?

3) Again, how long & how much driving? We had one w/ slap noises for 50K+ miles that would sometimes seem worse, then batter, .... a friend has it and is still driving it several years later.
