I think I'm with you on the idea something we've already visited will resurface -- I just had no clear picture in my mind of your suggestion to look for something blocking the valve yet allowing 160 pounds of pressure to be developed. I disagree on the the fuel draw past a gasket leak, as Rhys proposed and knows is possible, although I take it the OP doesn't see any visible evidence of that either. So yeah, its a mystery, and I just wanted to hear what you thought was "blocking" the intake.
