Power Steering 120-130

I am curious as to any particular issues installing a 164 box into a 140. I've been holding onto two 164 boxes and assorted pumps & brackets with the thought in mind to eventually put p/s in my '69 144S. With a front end alignment that favors track days the steering is rather heavy for daily stop and go. On the BB some time in the recent past someone made mention that 164 boxes aren't suitable for a 140 -- too large. I've worked on later 140's with p/s and my dad had a '71 144 and I've owned three 164's but I can't say I ever studied the set-up with the intention of using it. However, the older I get the better it looks. Way back when---late 60's - early 70's when MB used the same components and had very similiar suspension to Volvos the steering got raves from all the magazines and I always felt the 164 handled itself well for a nose heavy car. -- Dave
