Folks,

Some guy has a set of four Bridgestone Weatherforce 175 70R 14 for 150$. New, never mounted, from Sears.

I remain an unemployed technical writer / analyst, yet need a set of tires on the 1992 240 GL.

SO, whaddya folks think about Bridgestone Weatherforce 175 70R 14 tires? Are these good tires? Will the slightly narrower 175 (versus 185) tire be an issue?

I take it the 175 means a narrower tire, versus the usual 185 70R 14 tires. The 1990 240 owner manual suggests replacing the tires with the same make, model, and size the car came with. I have to look at the 1992 240 GL owner manual but it may say the same thing.

My 1976 240 (242,244,245) owner manual states 175 70R 14 tires on the 242/244 and 185 70R 14 tires for the 245 (I guess 185 increases height and load capacity a wee bit versus 175).

I'd rather have Michelin, but at 500$ a set including tax, mount, balance, and old tire discard fee .... beh.

Please help. I'm sort of lost when it comes to tires if they are not Michelin.

Meanwhile, I'll go burn my Cally State U. diplomas I worked so hard to pay for and earn with 3.5+ GPA two decades ago. Technical Writer - what a stupid, sh*tty, dung filled, asinine, and crass career.
