update 120-130

With the rubber gasket some type of butyl rubber sealant, as a tape from the Volvo dealer or a windshield store if they have it or as butyl rubber caulk from the hardware home improvement places.

I'd recommend against using the modern day windshield adhesive sealant that all windshield fix it places use, urethane. If you use windshield urethane adhesive between the rubber gasket and the painted surfaces, you'll pay 800 kind of bother to remove the glass and gasket next time.

Verify all windshield mounting surfaces are rust-free, the painted surfaces are clean and dry. If in any doubt and you encounter rust, treat the painted surfaces using some process like POR-15 and repaint.

I'll guess you have a new rubber glass retainer gasket, too?

Hope that helps you and your fabulous 120-130. I'm jealous.

I'm jealous of anyone that has and keeps a healthy, happy 120,130,140,164,220.

Caring for and loving on these models takes a more durable owner/enthusiast than the 240,260 and newer series. No, newer is no guarantee of better, no matter the technology used to innovate the car.

cheers,

"Oh, did you say holidayze? 'Boo' is my reply. I go and hide from the massive Western Hypocrisy with the nearly Winter Solstice Religious Holidays. If those with whom I'm related by blood directly were not such degenerate shit-piles, liars, thieves, and worse, and I had some friends, or my own family, shit, even a RWD-Volvo-compatible gal-pal, maybe I could say a holiday well wish without a profound and bitter sarcastic note."
