Odometer swap from miles to km 200 1990

My recently purchased '90 240 had a broken US odometer. Went to the junkyard and in a hit or miss approach got one out of a Canadian 240 with kilometers.

Before doing the swap I resoldered the connections on the odometer. Now after the swap it seems the odometer runs fast, somewhere around 1.3 times as fast. Wonder if I need to replace something else to make this work proper. Anyone ever done this?

thx
