Swishing sound from alternator 200

For the past few months whenever I do an extended run on the highway, or when it is very humid out, the alternator starts making a 'swishing' sound. The noise is loud enough to be heard inside the car with the windows closed, but its not extremely loud. Sometimes it lasts for a few minutes, sometimes for a day after the event. I'm a little worried that it will leave me stranded. I replaced the brushes and regulator assembly last year, and the belts are also pretty new and properly adjusted. The alternator has about 125K on it. Should I worry or go with "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
