Piston Slap questions... 700 1991

Piston slap is due to out of round cylinders and/or worn pistons. There seems to be a big improvement in the motors with the squirters. All my cars without, have slap, all my cars with, have no slap. You can add squirters; there is a loaner tool to do it with.

A shop I worked at sometimes did classic car rebuild. One was of a 30's Packard, for which there are no replacement pistons, oddly enough. Heh. So they knurled the skirts, which is a common repair to many, and heresy to others. YMMV. But it worked well, and does in Harley's and many others as well.
