Battery Light still on after Alternator replacement. Battery is good. 1998 S90/960 900 1998

Hi: I have a 1998 S90 (960), with the standard straight six engine. 104,000. miles. For the last month the battery light has been coming on, then it would turn off. Now the battery light remains on. The alternator is the original Volvo one that came with the car.

I took the car the my local auto parts store and had the the charging system tested. Battery tested good. The alternator had low output voltage.

I purchased and installed a new alternator (Bosch re-built). The battery light continues to remain on just like before. I swapped out the battery, with a known good one, that was fully charged, just to double check.

Why is this battery light remaining on? Any assistance would be appreciated.
