Self-adjusting drum brake upgrade 444-544

Is it possible (read: simple, requires no fabrication) to install self-adjusters from a set of self-adjusting rear drum brakes on a set of rear drum brakes that originally did NOT have self-adjusters but DO have the star-spindle style manual adjusters? Also, since my front and rear drums are both 9 inchers, is it possible to install self-adjusters on the front brakes as well?
