Heater hose 200

So the other eve on our way home my 1992 wagon stopped creating heat. The culprit is the heater hoses confirmed my a mechanic at work. I ran to the parts store and purchased a set of hoses the thing is they are L shaped and the ones currently in the car are S shaped. I am assuming these L shaped are incorrect or perhaps I'm wrong.
