Fuel pump runs and runs 200 1990

I think it might just be the Fuel Pump relay. A couple of weeks ago my 91 240 wouldn't start one morning - always starts easily but this morning it just spun. I reached over and tappped on the fp relay and it started right up - was running late so I just drove it to work. When I left work that evening I could hear the fuel pump running as I walked up to the car - started fine and drove it home. When I turned if off in the driveway I listened and heard the fuel pump still running. Turned the key off and on several times and the pump stopped. Next morning the battery was completely dead - apparently the fuel pump came back on and ran it down. I swapped the FPR, charged the battery and haven't had any problem since. I haven't opened the old FPR to get a look but I bet I'll find a short that was the culprit.
