Cooling fan 700

I'm post this here even though the problem is with a S40 because I know I'll get a better response to the problem that on the S40 forum. I apologize and thank you for your help.

The electric cooling fan on my 2000 s 40 is not going on as it should. I also have a 2004 s40 and with engine hot the fan goes on every 7-8 minutes. On the 2000 does not go on at all... I have changed thermostat, engine coolant temperature sensor and relay. It seems that relay does not get power to send it to the fan motor.
The fan motor is ok as I tested it. What else should I check? The ECU?
Suggestions would be appreciated. Tks
