1987 740 non turbo. No spark condition. Fuel pumps do run. I get a strong pulsing spark out of the coil wire and the tach needle jumps when cranking so I believe the Hall Effect sensor is ok. No spark comes out of the distributor. Several caps and rotors have been put on it to no avail. I know there is resistance built into the rotor and that changes with a new rotor once the engine has been cranked. I took an old rotor apart and soldered a piece of copper inside to make a zero resistance rotor but still no spark. All grounds have been cleaned in the engine compartment and near the ECM. Ignition control module has been changed with the 3 I had on hand. Why can't I get spark from the coil wire out to a distributor cap terminal? 3 new caps and rotors have been tried.
Help!!
