740 expansion tank cap

thanks for the response. the cap is a cheapo from fcpgroton. i should have known better. i too had to go into the 240 parts search to find the low pressure cap. this led me to wonder if there is a difference in the threads on the different tanks. having seen this swap discussed on the board in the past i wasn't expecting a problem. this cap is so cheap it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't fit anything. i'll try to get hold of the one that worked for you.
