Turbo rebuild - has anyone done it themselves? 900 1994

Everyone,

I have been thinking about doing a turbo rebuild on my wife's '94 940 Turbo (lots of whine on spin up, especially when cold) and I was wondering if anyone has tried doing this themselves. What tools are needed? How was the experience? How much did you pay for parts? I trying to get a feel for how much I could save...places like this following (http://www.cheetahturbo.com/index.htm) seem to be able to do the rebuild for about $300 or so. I also wouldn't mind the challenge of trying it myself. As always, thanks for your comments!
