Pulling out a dent (fender) 200 1989

Avoid drilling the fender,it makes it weaker.I asked my body guy how do they pull out dents and he said they spot weld rods to the damage then pull.It keeps the fender strong.I like the idea of a flat piece of wood to then push on that,keep your eye on the outside.You don't want a pop out.My guy said he could fix this like new,I opted for another fender.
