What are symptoms of failing trailing arm bushings? 200 1990

After replacing all of my front end suspension parts about a year ago I still had an annoying klunking seemingly from right side front end. It continued to get worse, doesn't seem to happen on direct bumps but klunks up a storm over ridges and uneven road surfaces.

I am fairly certain this 240 with 209,000 mi has never had the trailing arm bushings replaced so I'm wondering if that is the source of the klunking?

What do you notice when your trailing arm bushings are bad and is there an easy way to confirm they are bad?
