troubleshooting no start. 87-740 700 1987

Good day All

In the midst of all the other problems, my trusty 740 quits at red light yesterday.

The starter operates great, but the engine will not ignite.

What Ive found:

When I turn the key I dont here the pumps.

Putting my hand on the relay, I can feel it clicking when I turn the key(but no pump).

Removing the relay, and jumping 30 to 87/2,while key is off, I can hear the pumps turning(key still off). Im puzzled by that. I thought I wouldnt hear the pumps until I turn on the key?

Tach moves slightly when I turn on the key, but doesnt move, at all, when engine is turning.

Number 1 fuse is good
What to do ?

L.
