engine for my 1961 PV544 444-544

Hello to all,

Have been inactive on the site for about 6 years. My car is in a body shop in Indiana and I live in Arkansas now.

I will be bringing it home shortly when body and paint are finished.
It has a Ford Ranger rear end in it and was going to be Chevy 4-cylinder powered but I think I want a more modern engine. I have surfed many hours looking for a 4-cylinder swap. No joy.

NO V6's or 8's and no Volvo engines either.

Has to be something that I can get fixed out here in the boonies if it quits and it is beyond my ability to repair.

I have a Toyota twin cam and 5-speed with fuel injection and computer in my 1961 Morris Minor, which I installed, so I have some skills.

Please be kind if you love Volvo engines. This will be my driver and will see daily use.

Looking forward to some positive input.

Best to all.

Ray J.
