Missed Connection? (coolant temp sensor)

Hey all,

I changed out my injector O-rings yesterday on my '88 245 - seems to have helped my rough cold idle!

Anyway, i was *going* to change my Coolant Temp Sensor with a new (uninstalled)one i received from a friend who scraped his 245. Turns out, my sensor only has a one spade lead to it AND is a 18mm socket vs. with a newer looking dual lead and is 19mm - to add to the confusion - there is a plug floating around under the hood that fits the NEW cold start sensor perfect - and is the correct wire length, etc, etc...

Did volvo put 2 connectors under the hood for this sensor?

thanks for any light you can shed!

-aaron
