variable cam timing question ? 200 1987

I just finished putting an A cam in my '87 245. It is much better than the M cam ( free to a good home for the shipping...) that was in it. Now it will chirp the tire(s) and runs out of breath at about 5500 rpm, not bad for a car with 245,000 miles. The engine is also much quieter with a fresh valve adjustment.

Since I have gone this far, does the adjustable cam sprocket make a similar amount of difference, i.e. is it worth the effort ? I know that it will never be a rocketship, but it should be a little bit of fun to drive.

Thanks

Greg
